March 15, 2019)-West Chester University and Delaware County Community College have signed an agreement that will enable qualified Delaware County Community College students, pursuing an Associate in Applied Science Nursing Degree (ASN), to concurrently enroll, on a provisional basis, into the Registered Nurse-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) degree program at West Chester University.Students must take and successfully complete a non-credit four module Computer Proficiency Requirement by the end of the first semester. The student must be listed in good standing with the prior institution. All Science courses must have been taken within the last five calendar years, unless the student possesses a degree or advanced degree in the specific field of study for which the student is seeking transfer credit. General education courses taken from a nationally or regionally accredited institution will be considered for transfer. This program focuses on the preparation of nurses who are life-long learners and critical thinkers, and upon completion of the program, will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN licensing examination to become a Registered Nurse.Ī total of 120 semester credits are required to earn the Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN), including the completion of general education courses, lower and upper division didactic theory courses, and clinical experience.
